Travel writing..

As the sun beats down on my beautifully bronzed neck I couldn't help notice the subtle mountain tops poking through the horizon. The sand felt warm under my towel and soft on my toes, I felt completely and utterly at piece. The sea glowed clear blue under the sun like a giant liquid crystal, covering the landscape like a watery blanket. At one end of the beach was a group playing the bongos filling my ears with waves of music. They played each note with such love and enthusiasm I couldn't help but smile.

A young man walks by trying to sell bracelets made of colourful beads, the green one caught my eye it was as bright as the rainforest. He had long dreadlocked hair that came right down to the small of his back, he had walked past me many times that day trying to sell his goods, even with the heat.  He smiled at me just as a bead of sweat slowly trickled down his forehead to his chin. It was a warm inviting smile that made me feel all warm inside. As he was walking away I spot he has a tiny tattoo delicately placed on his left calf, not a very big tattoo but just big enough to create a statement.

  1. Beautifully observed Kate. I really like your attention to detail. However, just keep an eye on the tense that you use. It is a little muddled. Have a quick chat with me if you are not sure how to get in right. Fab work overall.
